ECRT Training

Federal regulations require that the University document and certify how effort and salary are spent in support of federally funded projects.  July 2009, the effort certification process moved from a paper-based system to a web-based system.

The system is known as ECRT (Effort Certification & Reporting Technology) and is used to certify, approve, and track/report the effort provided by Faculty and monthly staff.

Those who must certify their effort are known as Certifiers and will use ECRT to certify where their time is spent.  Effort Coordinators will use ECRT to track and approve the effort certification for certifiers in their department.

Effort Coordinators

If you are an Effort Coordinator, please select your entity from below for further instruction:

I am an Effort Coordinator on Campus
    (including the Provost Area Management Center or Central Administration Management Center).

I am an Effort Coordinator for the School of Medicine (SOM) or the School of Nursing (SON).

Effort Coordinator Base Training - SOM and SON

	Description:	This training session will cover how to review and process the effort certified by Faculty and monthly staff for departments in the School of Medicine (SOM) and School of Nursing (SON) Management Centers.

Effort Coordinator Total Professional Effort - SOM and SON

	Description:	This additional training session will cover how to review and approve the Total Professional Effort confirmed by Faculty.
	Duration:	3 hours

Effort Supporting DUHS (ES-DUHS) - SOM Only

	Description:	This additional session covers how to review and approve Faculty's quarterly and annual effort in support of DUHS that is funded from University sources. This training is ONLY required for those in Clinical departments who have Faculty with effort paid from G/L Account 600200.
