  1. Who specifically are the effort certification documents being prepared for? Who reviews these and why do they need them?
  2. What is the effort certification certifying? Is it actual hours worked? Is it just telling somebody where your salary comes from?
  3. What is the primary reason for effort certification? Is it to reduce the audit risk to Duke University?
  4. I have a good amount of administrative time devoted to departmental duties. I also spend a significant amount of time on committees etc. Where does this effort appear on my effort statement?
  5. Why is Duke University converting to a new system?
  6. Is there a chance someone will actually audit my time (follow me around)? If so and a discrepancy is found, or if somehow a discrepancy is uncovered, what can happen? Do I have any personal liability because I signed a statement?
  7. I have already certified my effort and it has been processed by my Effort coordinator. Why did I receive a reminder email?
  8. My total percentages do not equal 100%. Can I still certify without creating the need for a Cost Transfer iForm?
  9. I went into my ECRT card to certify my effort and found that there was no "Certify" button like the instructions stated.
  10. When I attempt to complete the certification, I get the message "ACCESS DENIED, You do not have sufficient rights to access this page."
  11. I do not work on any federally funded projects. Do I still need to complete the certification process?
  12. I am no longer an employee of Duke, but I received an email from ECRT telling me that I need to certify my effort. The link in the ECRT email denied me access. How do I certify my effort?
